Lies hurt, sometimes more than we think they will. All we can do is figure out how to learn from them. In the end, things usually end up alright. Though we always carry it with us. These two poems that I wrote are separate, though they do relate a little bit. Be strong, but remain sweet. When someone uses their thorns to prick you, remember you have your own, but you also have your petals.
My name is Elaina Swanson, I'm 16 and I was born and raised in Boise, ID. Words are my escape, whether they are in a book, lyrics of a song, quotes on a sticky note, or a poem that I've written. If I have words my imagination can run wild and I can escape the real world, even if it's just for a little bit.
Reprint terms: The poems and other writings I post here are my own unless it says otherwise. Please do not take them without first asking and if I allow you to, please make sure you put my name next to it.
